One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday morning is to wake up early, sneak downstairs while Liz is still sleeping, and make a delicious breakfast to share in bed. Breakfast in bed is the perfect way to reconnect with your spouse.
Have kids? Wake up before the kids do, prepare a quick mimosa, and then sneak back into bed for a little snuggling before the day gets crazy.
Breakfast in bed is the perfect time to indulge in something you wouldn’t typically enjoy on a normal day. For us, the perfect indulgence is Banana Nutella Stuffed Brioche French Toast.

Banana Nutella Stuffed French Toast:
Regular French Toast and Banana Nutella Crepes are two of our favorite breakfasts. So, we decided to marry the two to make this AMAZING breakfast combination. Topped off with fresh strawberries and accompanied by a warm mug of coffee, this is the perfect way to start off a cozy weekend!
Stop by the grocery store on the way home from work today and pick up the ingredients to create this tasty and romantic breakfast in bed tomorrow morning!
The Shopping List:
- 3 Large Eggs
- 3/4 Cup Whole Milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 Bananas
- 1 Cup Sliced Strawberries
- 1 Loaf of Brioche Bread
Step 1. Slice brioche bread into 1½ inch slices. In the bottom of the bread, slice a pocket, being careful not to cut all the way through the bread. Using a butter knife stuff the bread with nutella and sliced bananas.
Step 2. Whisk 3 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 1 tbsp sugar, 1/4 tsp vanilla, and 1/8 tsp salt (optional) in bowl or small baking dish.
Step 3. Heat a flat pan or griddle over medium-high heat. Coat the pan with butter to prevent toast from sticking. Dip french toast in egg mixture, covering both sides, and place on pan. Allow toast to cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown, flipping once. Remove toast from pan and stack on a small plate. Top with sliced strawberries and maple syrup.
Make it extra sweet:
For a little extra sweetness, sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the toast prior to serving.
